04 / A little Rome magic

The moments between the plans.

For the best morning

Walk through the historic centre before breakfast, while the streets still belong to the city.

For the photograph

The view from the Pincian Terrace in the last light of the day.

For one thing not to rush

An aperitivo when the evening has nowhere else to be.

05 / The practical details

Consider it taken care of.

The useful things, all in one place. So you can stay in the moment.

Airport to hotel

From Fiumicino, choose a hotel-arranged transfer or an official taxi from the airport rank. Allow for city traffic. The Leonardo express runs non-stop to Roma Termini in about 32 minutes; continue to the hotel by taxi. From Ciampino, a pre-arranged transfer is a comfortable option.

Getting around Rome

Walk the historic centre in unhurried stretches, with time for a coffee along the way. Flaminio and Spagna, on Metro line A, are convenient for the hotel. Use official taxi ranks and ATAC for current routes, tickets and service updates.

Expected April weather

Expect mild spring afternoons, cooler mornings and evenings, and the possibility of rain. Bring layers for the changing light and temperature. This is seasonal guidance; check the forecast shortly before you leave.

What to pack

Comfortable shoes for cobblestones, light layers, a compact umbrella and something beautiful for Saturday dinner. Bring a wrap that covers shoulders and clothing that covers knees for Vatican visits. Add sunglasses, a small day bag and a travel adapter suitable for Italy.
